Case Studies, Part 2 - Creative Director/Director Matt McIntosh describes:
NE England Toyota, "Gears"
Director
"The animation portion of this was handled masterfully by Scott Knowlton and Engine Room Edit with John Curtis providing Creative Direction. I drafted storyboards in the days leading up to it coming up with a few alternate angles for the reveal. I did this primarily to make sure everyone was on the same page. Though we had the advantage of shooting an animatic ahead of time to test the effect out. It was a fun project."
Rockport Lite, "Be Lighter, Be Better, Be Comfortable", Creative Director, Director, DP
"Collaborated with the client on the concept and storyboarding. The production piece was extremely low drag. Essentially it was a one-band man shoot (officially, myself with an intern). The goal was to create that milky, very narrow depth of field through lenses and filtering. This is something that Rockport had favored on some of their high end advertisements and we were able to pull it off on a much, much lower budget."
Summer Infant, "Peek Plus" Director/DP, Creative Director
"I provided three ideas to the client and they went with 'Center of her Life'. Again, the audience would be international and multi-lingual. And again, the idea was to tell the story visually, graphically and musically. 'Center of her Life' tells the story of a woman driven to distraction by her hand held device as she can't resist checking in on the 'Center of her Life' during the course of the day. It was a simple design, scaled to the resources available. Shot with a tiny crew (I both DPed and Directed) less time and a smaller budget. Nevertheless, client walked away happy."
